The only possible meaning I can think of for this is the old practice of "resurrection" for medical schools. Some schools and anatomy professors used to pay off undertakers to "resurrect" bodies (dig them back up) so the corpses could be studied by medical students. It used to be illegal to provide bodies for anatomy classes. So the undertaker "resurrected" the dead body and handed it to the upper-taker (the professor).
