We went to a wedding in NY a few years ago that was held on Halloween night. The church was a beautiful, gothic style stone church - the perfect setting, and the pews had these high, wrought iron candle holders on the end that were really cool.

The bride had people handing out light up flashlights with fiber optic ends (like these: http://www.verycoolproducts.com/catalog/images/tradeshow/fibroptic_lghts.jpg) at the door, so everyone was waving them as they came out. (It was an evening wedding, so it was dark by then, and the pictures were really cool!)
The BMs wore red dresses, and the centerpieces included fall leaves and apples in terra cotta pots

The cake was a 3 tier square cake - maple walnut - decorated with fall leaves (sorry, I don't have any good pictures)
The cutest thing was when the bridal party and the couple were introduced, they came in holding up hand held masks to their face (something like this http://bohemianmasquerade.com/mask_gallery/medium_star%20mask.jpg)

Davidsbridal.com, look at the dresses of the Orange & Black. It is elegant & gorgeous. My friend did that & it was so pretty. She had a wedding right close to October 31st & that is what she did. You can do those colors, but make it fall type. It depends. Just look at different wedding themes online. I also been to a wedding where everyoen dressed up in costumes, so it all depends on you.

I've been to two, actually. One was very nice. The centerpieces were jack-o-lanterns, and that was about the only Halloween thing. It was like being at a wedding that had a bit of Halloween to it. The other was rather corny...it had the ghosts and ghouls. It was like being at a Halloween party rather than a wedding.

Um, no I haven't. I don't really want to see my fat Uncle Larry dressed up as the Baby New Year at my wedding, or my cousin Bea as Elvira. Not really into themed weddings all that much either. If you want to celebrate the fall season in your wedding I would suggest those beautiful white pumpkins (I think the varieties are "lumina" and "baby boo") incorporated into a centerpiece or some fall foliage/grasses. Maybe sheaves of wheat wrapped in a fall colored ribbon (burnt oranges/browns etc).Nothing wrong with autumnal colors, but I would SO stay away from the whole black & orange thing. Not a very elegant color combo, especially for a wedding. Halloween is my favorite holiday of all time..but I don't think it will make for a good wedding theme.

Yes, I have done two. They both used traditional wedding clothing for themselves and the attendants. Neither chose orange/black as their colors, and both only integrated small Halloween details into their decor. My brother and his wife were married last Halloween and used red and black. Instead of bouquets, the b'maids carried elaborate feathered masks which they held to their faces as they came down the aisle. The flower girls' pomander ball (a ball of flowers you carry instead of throwing petals) had tiny black spiders hanging from its ribbons. Since it was held on Halloween night, and the kids there missed trick or treat, we had lots of bowls of candy and toys on all the tables, and bags for them to use to gather it with. It was a blast, and since their attire was still semi-formal, the pictures are beautiful!

I have performed Halloween weddings.
This last one I did, we had an arch covered in web with spiders all over it. Turned out r-e-a-l cute.
A friend of mine performed a wedding where SHE had to dress up as well as the bridal party.
I've heard of asking the guests to dress up as well.

No, thank god. I'm not into themed weddings, it changes the focus of the day. It's a wedding not a Halloween party! Have a casual Halloween rehearsal dinner or Bachelor/ette party instead.

What if you used the colors orange and black for your theme...table clothes, napkins, etc. You could have little pumpkins around filled with the miniature candy bars for people to snack on.
