The worlds foremost historians on this era (Gautier and Durant), well before 911, wrote that the Arab Muslim invasions of India was the greatest genocide in all human history. So why do so few westerners know this?
First, ethnocentric historical education is always an issue no matter what country. WW2 is well know because America was involved.
The second reason is a little more pernious. You see, Americans are taught world history, but when it comes to Islam, there has always been the threat of represile.
No one dared bad mouth the mafia in public during the 50's. Islam has had this type reputation since the earliest Islamic invasions.

Indians are so busy to make living that they forgot their history.
Yes, islam did massacres, which lasted for hundres of years. They forced for conversion and killed millions who denied the conversion.
Most muslims in india are younger generations of the people who converted their faith out of fear of execution.

This is BS. If this were the case, then numerous movies in which the enemy was Middle-eastern would never have been made.

Not to excuse it, but the Muslims have a lot of competition for the title of "greatest genocide." The Mongols did a fair job of it on the Chinese and the Muslims. It seems the Indo-Europeans did a pretty thorough job of it, and probably the people we think of as Native Americans did it to the people who were here earlier, but we only like to focus on the evil deeds of Western Civilization.

As for why we know so little about such things, "History is written by the victors" so considering there are still Germans who deny the holocaust happened... Christians who deny the horrors of the Crusades... and the Catholic Church still denies their purge of the Templars and Cathars was unjustified, I think it's a case of we all could do with a crash course in Human folly.

The Judeo Christian teachings in the west;
show us a way to live and keep living , also to Appreciate and know the importance of life. If the Muslims are toughed this way, most of them really don't show it. Islam has a huge history of war and violence!
there are millions of Assyrians , Greeks ,Armenians ,Indians , not to mention millions of their own that have been killed!
Turkey to this date has denied everything during the ottoman empire and Ataturk!
