Goodness, I have this same problem. Where there's a zit one day and a scar the next!
Well, okay...don't panic. It may look really disheartening but hang in there. Some advice I personally received were to:
-Hydrate yourself, it's the best way to keep zits from coming...and replenish the skin.
-Wash your face. It keeps oil from clogging your pores, allows dead skin layers to fall away, and keeps healthier appearance.
-Gently scrub your face with a wash cloth or something a bit sandy but smooth enough not to hurt your skin or cause irritation.
-Try Neosporin when the first signs of scarring shows. It helps the scar from not being too obvious.
-Either this…or wait. The scars generally fade with age. For some people with sensitive skin, all these methods only make their skin worse.
Learn it live until than…I am.

There are two options that I know of, both recommended by my dermatologist:

1) Porcelana- this is a cream you can buy in the drugstore with the facial care stuff. Just put a little bit of it directly on the spots to make them fade. If this is going to work for you, you should see improvement within three months.

Pros: cheap, easy to find
Cons: It doesn't work so well on dark skin

You should probably wear sunscreen

2) Retinol (Retin-A)- I believe this works by speeding up the cell turnover rate. You'll have to get a prescription from the dermatologist. It's good for acne, as well as acne scars.

Pros: effective

Cons: can irritate the skin, especially if you use too much (redness, dryness etc.) Use as little as possible (less than pea size), and you might not want to use it every night. Also, your skin has to be absolutely dry (at least 20 minutes since you washed it) before you put it on.

Makes your skin more sensitive to the sun, so you MUST wear sunscreen (but you should be doing this everyday anyway).

Need a prescription

Can be expensive

Murad Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Gel!!!!!! It is awesome, though a bit pricey ($50). It works on all types of spots that may be on your skin ( I am very fair skinned and every pimple I get leaves a scar). The active ingredient is Hydroquonine 2%, so if you don't want to spend as much, look for a cream with that ingredient in it (my mom uses one that she buys from on-line that is only $25). Also, it helps to exfoliate a few times a week to bring out the fresh skin underneath, which in turn will help fade the scars more quickly. Some kinds of exfoliants are even designed to brighten your skin and help with uneven pigmentation as a result of dark spots and such (look for ingredients like licorice, grapefruit extract, etc..). I used to use one by Dermalogica, called Daily Microfoliant. Good luck!!!

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.
7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.

The secret is never to touch the spots

Tips on how to treat acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days?

well i have that too but i heard from my facialist that those pigmentation marks are from being tanned in the sun. so to minimize it, wear suncreen. i avoid sun so i thought i didnt have to do this but it seems a little sunlight can have make this pigmentation marks.

the sunscreen i bought two days ago is called "ultimate uv defence" by skinceuticals that has a spf of 30. it has zinc oxide to help promote healing i heard. btw, i always avoided sunscreen because of that greasy feeling but i acually like this sunscreen. it costs $35 retail. but i love it. you can try buy it off ebay where it is cheaper~

use the kind of creme that specializes in removing scars. It works wonders.
**Sorry I can't give you the specific name cuz it's been so long that I've needed it. But head to your nearest wal-mart or target and look for a removal of scar creme**
Hope I helped. =)
