I can sympathize with you. A reduction cost somewhere in the neighborhood of 5000-10000 depending on location. The drawbacks would be the recovery time, and sometimes women cannot breast feed after surgery. Insurance will cover the procedure if the size of the breast is the cause of other health or medical problems. Hope this helps.

If this is for health reasons (and it usually is, like either having or avoiding back problems) you may be able to have insurance pick up at least part of the cost, especially if ordered by a doctor. I have no idea how much it costs. I've never heard of any drawbacks. An elderly woman confided to me that her doctor ordered her to not wear a bra because of lung problems. She said it was remarkably liberating, and she was happy that she never had that much to begin with.

breast reduction is a tough surgery.
the plastic surgeon will make a cut down..called the anchor scar.
they cut around your areola, and take an actual pie shaped slice from the lower part of your breast.
you are left with scars...that are shaped like an anchor..that's why they call it the anchor scar.
also sometimes in reduction ..you can loose the ability to breastfeed..and sometime nerves are cut..and you can loose sensation in your nipples.
if your doctor can prove that for health reasons you need the reduction..insurance companies..might accept & pay for it.
always remember..even when elective..surgery is risky.
cost..i would guess somewhere about $5000.00 and up.
depending upon where you live, where your surgery will be performed and which doctor will do the surgery.
make sure your plastic surgeon is top notch and highly reccommended and qualified.

When I used to be within the Navy, one among my troops confirmed me a photo of her taken a couple of years earlier than. She stood five', and gave the impression of Dolly Parton. She had breast discount surgical procedure. She used to be having again pains, shoulder pains. She lifted her blouse and backside of her bra and also you would slightly see a gentle crimson scar underneath her breast. (Yes, we had been that near as peers...lengthy tale.) She is a lovely gal and given that the surgical procedure, she used to be a miles happier one, too. Talk to a doctor approximately a breast discount. Like Dawn, I consider you can be a lot happier. One day we had a celebration on the dwelling of one among my different troops, and I spotted Dawn and a colossal breasted neighbor within the nook speakme. That summer time, Tina (the neighbor) used to be over in her bathing go well with and some thing simply did not seem proper. She quickly stated, "I must take this factor off. My stitches are itching like loopy." Then it dawned on me (pardon the pun) that she, too, had breast discount. Those little dogs had been status proud. Good good fortune!

It cost me nothing. It cost my insurance company $8,000 to have five pounds removed from my breasts.
Complaints about back pain, neck pain, and shoulder pain as well as grooves in the shoulders due to your bra digging in and rashes under your breasts will get you covered by insurance. Especially if you have had past doctor visits due to your back pain.
The only thing I regret is not getting my surgery done sooner! My breasts are perkier and my fiance LOVES them!
So does my back!
You will be out of work for two weeks to recover as you should not do any heavy lifting/pulling/pushing due to the incisions and the fact you are having surgery times two. It will take at least a month or two to get back into normal duties.
The scars are NOWHERE near as bad as people claim. Your surgeon and your after surgery care will tell how your scars will be. Mine are 95% gone (they can take up to a year to fade) and they are hardly noticeable.
As for breastfeeding after reduction, check out this link: http://www.bfar.org
The link in my source is very very helpful, has a ton of FAQ's and pictures of the different incisions as well as a support board for breast reduction! Check it out, it helped me out a TON.

I don't think insurance would pay for it since it's cosmetic. It's not like your back is bad and this would fix it.
