Look in your owners manual. Somewhere between 5000 and 10,000 miles is appropriate. Yes, 10,000 miles on some cars is appropriate. Most importantly, look in your owners manual.

As stated above. If your using synthetic oil, you can go 5000+ miles on it. One thing to do though, is still check to make sure the oil is always full on the dipstick. The reason for longer oil changes on syntheitc oil is cause it's made out of other things besides petroleum. I believe it's a chemical reaction between carbon dioxide and something. Anyways, it difference is cause the Synthetic oil doesn't break down like conventional petro oiil does, in which can provide long term lubrication. Hope this helps. :-)

Is that is what is on the odometer? 3000 mile mark would be my best guess. Really, the owners manual will say.
On new cars/new engines the oil changes are more frequent in the beginning-such as after the first 100, first 1000, and 3000. Is because there is the greater possibility of metal filings as parts wear into their groove.

5000 miles. a service indicator will light up on the dashboard. the dealer will remove it after performing the 5000 mile service. Of course, an early oil change (in addition to the 5000) won't hurt.

The oil change places will tell you 3,000 miles for an oil change.
However you can to 5.000 miles because the oil that is used is a mixture of conventional oil and synthetic oil. That is why you can go 5,000 between oil changes.

5000 miles. where did you buy it? your salesman should have told you that. pretty cruddy salesman. Then at 10000, and so on. if it is a lease take it to a VW dealer so there's proper records of your maintenance at turn in or you'll get billed.

Let's have oil change every 4500 to 5000km if you drive in a gentle way.
If you are on highway every day, you really need to change it every 4000km.
