I for one, have never updated my BIOS. But I imagine that updating may help with security issues, for instance it may be harder to crack a bios password if someone is trying to boot a live cd of linux and steal sam files and syskeys and stuff. Also maybe it has a way of booting everything quicker. One thing I realize Is that someone is gonna find a way around it anyway and as long as I dont allow someone on my computer I can stay safe, also, if you plan to update your devices like CD-Roms DVD- roms Usb stuff or even hard drives, you may have to update so they can have capabilities to run, as long as your computer is running smoothely you should be just fine.

i never have and never will.. considering it runs your computers voltage, FSB and so on i say if it ain't broke, don't fix it :)
