I'm almost 16 years old and extremelly in shape from playing soccer year round and track but over the past few weeks ive been doing alot of both and have had no energy to run at all i feel like im out of shape. i know this is most likely from overworking although i should be able to handle it since ive handled worse but i have a track meet tomorrow and run 400 in a relay and do not want to let my team down. is there anything i can do quickly that will help me in my race tomorrow other than rest??

DRINK RED BULL.
It really works and IT GIVES YOU WINGS so you'll be sure to win the race.

It seems very much like your glycogen stores are depleted. This will cause your body to inhibit glycolisis which is necessary for athletic performance.

You need to replenish your glycogen stores by having some starchy carbohydrates (with fiber) this evening. The reason is because it takes about 12 hours to replenish glycogen stores. Also, make sure that you have a good breakfast.

Here is a healthy foods list and a sample meal plan so you can have an idea about what to eat.

I too am in track and i know that I have the most energy when I eat a good breakfast (not too heavy though) and have a lot of small snacks through out the day before the meet.

I would eat or drink as much protien that you can. Take a multivitamin if you have some. One tonight an dthen one in the morning should help. Also if you have an energy drink, that might help. Good Luck!
