start with carrots, green beans, peas are ok but the skin is hard to mash, corn is good but again make sure your baby isnt allergic. corn can cause collick. and pinto beans, potato, cooked rice, cauliflower and chicken broth.

with these ingredients you are on your way to great homemade baby food! mash them all in a food processor, using the hot chicken broth to get that smooth consistency. then spoon portions into a freezer safe baggie or bowl. every morning i would take the portions i'd use that day. warm a bit in the microwave or just let it get room temp and serve. or you can just make what you will use that day every morning.

good luck,
mom of four

You can purchase a baby food grinder on line if you look hard enough. I used to make all kinds of combos. His fave was potatoes w/ ham. Avoid fruits w/ seeds till your child is old enough to handle them. Also try not to use too many spices and salt. The great thing about grinding your own food is that you can grind what your family is eating, most things anyway. It also saves you $$!

It will vary on what to give bubs at different age milestones 98%of the time I make my own food for my bub. start by Introducing single variety vegies first and then start to mix when you know that your little one isnt allergic to and then start to introduce meat and fish. start with puree then as they get older start to give them a bit of texture by mashing and the older they get the coarser it should become. I have one of thoes magic bullet blenders and that is compact and perfect for making baby food i do all of bubs food through this. also make vegies a few days ahead and place into ice cube trays and freeze then so its all ready to pop out for your next meal. saves a lot of time for us busy mums.

Cook whatever veggies or fruit you are going to give your baby until very tender and then place in the food processor and puree.

Just put the veggies (or whatever) in a blender. Remember too that they don't have all the preservatives of store-bought so don't keep leftovers very long.

Put it in the food processor. I wouldn't do it till about 9 mos. though, Doctor told us not to feed him adult food until then.

you could just make a really creamy casserole, or mash up some peas, slice carrots very fine, or something like that.......or you could even buy the canned fruits or vegetables and just slice them up better....
