It is surely unavoidable. The darkness will in the end prevail. The light is substance, Darkness nothing, only Nothing lasts forever. How can we hope otherwise?

I agree.
The Universe is finite and is expanding. The "voids" between galaxies will be greater and greater and the supernovas will emit less energy. In the end the Universe will be a very dark place.

I respectfully disagree. Good and evil, Light and darkness - these are all synonyms which describe Truth and Lies, respectively. I believe that Light will always triumph over darkness because darkness is a lie, which is revealed to be a lie at the very second Light appears. For example, let's say that someone goes into a dark room and turns the light switch on. When that happens - all of a sudden the person can see everything in that room. In reality, the Truth is that everything was already there in the room, however; darkness prevented the person from knowing for certain if everything was there. Hence, not only does Light extinguishes the darkness, but also, Light exposes the darkness to be a lie in the same way that Truth exposes lies. Darkness will never triumph over Light simply because when the two seemingly appear together - it is the darkness that vanishes - not the Light. The Light is the Truth and it always reveals the Truth. Lies are a deception. It is worth noting that God exists BEFORE the Light and darkness and even before time and space which is extremely difficult or impossible to understand with our limited physical brains. Therefore, neither Light nor darkness is eternal but only God, and if we align ourselves with God - we too will be eternal.

Because without darkness one cannot see the light, and without the light how can one perceive the darkness. The powers of darkness have triumphed on Gaia many times, however as all things exist within the cycle that takes us from 'God', through the planes of existence, down past the physical and into the Talas of Avichi and back through the planes to 'God' again, it seems logical that evolution will balance the light with the dark so that neither extreme exist.

The only way that Light wins over Darkness is for

1- Light to have an eternal source, one which will never extinguish.

or

2- That Light has a renewed source supply that replaces Light as it is extinguished.

It is a known fact...even scientifically....where ever a light shines the darkness cannot overcome it.

Even as you suggest; if darkness prevails it is not because of any power it has, it is merely because the light has ceased or moved away.

I bet you're a fun guy at a party. Just making a joke. That really is sad though. I agree though. I don't want to live forever. I try to be positive, and pretend I'm happy. I look forward to not existing though. My mind and my soul have been crushed and they can never be repaired. I never want anyone to ever feel like this though. I hope others will live in happiness and light forever.

the earth as we know it will be fallen into darkness but god will take the believers with him and create a new heaven and a new earth away from the nothingness. nothingness is eternal but so is god and god is something greater because he exists rather than darkness
