It doesn't hurt when they are taken off. They use some kind of equally-opposed pressure pliers, and they pop right off! The hardest part is the glue that is left. For that they "polish" it off with a roundish "dremel" bit.
Savor how smooth your teeth feel when he is done...notice nothing is scraping your cheeks or tongue...it feels awesome, but the feeling goes soon, so savor it!

It hurts a little bit ... but not like when you first got them and you felt like you just wanted to shoot yourself in the face because they were soooo tight!
It took them about 3 minutes to get them off but then they went crazy scraping and cleaning so probably about 20--25 minutes for mine.
Yeah they used that thing to hold my lips back but I produce a lot of saliva apparently so I don't know if they do that for everyone.
Yeah they used that thing ... but only to get the dried glue off.
Trust me, it really isn't that bad and it feels AMAZING when they take them off. A lot to get used to though, your teeth feel so weird for a couple days but after a while it feels normal.
Good luck and don't worry!

I actually had mine taken off today, well the bottom ones. It didn't hurt t all, it just felt weird and it only took them about 30 min. total. The women who took mine off used the thing to hold my lips back, but that was becasue she was new, and I wasn't used to it yet. They use the little saw thing to get the glue off.

1. No.
2. An hour and a half.
3. Yes
4. No.
It wasn't bad at all. They just pluck the braces off (painless) and whiten your teeth real quick.

My tongue was cut in half when they put the saw in my mouth. They had to stitch it back together.
