I think many gays feel most religion sees gays as going to hell so why should they believe in something that hates their very existence.
There are religious gays and there are non religious gays. Most are not welcomed in mainstream churches so, they form their own congregations like Dignity for Catholics and like the Rev. Troy Perry did with the Metropolitan Community Church in L.A.
Episcopalians and Methodists are more welcoming these days.

Well unfortunately a lot of my fellow christians try to throw up the "You're all going to hell" Thats crap. That is not the way to get someone to follow Jesus. I say love one another and let God work it out. I love everyone by the way.
