I recently came up with a way to raise money for charity and I already chose which charity I want the money to go to. My question is: Should I inform the charity ahead of time about my plans? Or is it ok to go ahead with the plan without their involvement/knowledge?

Thanks!

If you plan to use the charity's name, or say you're raising money for them, you have to disclose it to them. Otherwise they could think you're scamming people.

But if it's a good idea, and you want to do it on your own, the charity should support it. Especially if they don't have to invest in it.

Plus you can just email most charities, try that.
