I took 2 baby aspirins, and all of a sudden, my throat feels half-closed, I feel very nervous, my heart skips all over the place, I get dizzy, my jaw clenches by itself, etc.

This happened another time when I took a normal adult dose of aspirin. This is NOT an allergic reaction b/c it doesn't match the symptoms of one. Could it be a drop in blood pressure? Or a seizure? Or just a stomach irritation, maybe?

The jaw clenching part doesn't fit exactly, but the rest sounds like a vagal nerve stimulation from the asprin not getting all the way through your esophagus to your stomach.

You could test this by drinking a full glass of water after you take the tablet and see if that prevents the condition.

The vagus nerve innervates the heart ( and elsewhere) and the rapid but thready heart beat can cause a drop in blood pressure that makes you feel dizzy ( but mostly if you are standing, since it requires a certain amount of pressure to send the blood up against gravity to your head).

It is an allergy reaction. Don't kid yourself. Any time you eat, drink or get bit by something that causes your throat to close or half close, could be dangerous. Not all symptoms are the same. If that happens again, take a benedryl and head to the ER. Your life is something you do not want to mess around with. Be careful.

Actually this could very well be (stress "could be") a mild to moderate allergic reaction. I would strongly suggest that you discuss this with your doctor. There is a category of allergic reactions that can be associated with the sensation of your throat closing that can be quite serious. If that is what this is, there is the potential that your reaction could be worse next time.

i would think it is a reaction as well. you don't always follow by exactly what the labels say. different people react in different ways to different things. stop taking the aspirin until you find out though.
