If you are feeling suicidal then please call the National Suicide Hotline as soon as possible at 1-800-273-TALK: http://suicidehotlines.com/national.html
=====
Catholics believe suicide when committed in full knowledge and deliberate consent is a complete turning away from God (a mortal sin) and will send a person to hell.
There are 3 conditions of a mortal sin: grave matter, full knowledge, and deliberate consent.
While suicide (or any kind of murder) is always a grave matter, people who commit suicide may not always have full knowledge of what they're doing. Drugs can definitely impair one's thinking, as can other things, such as diseases, intense pain, or anguish.
Therefore, suicide is not automatically treated as a mortal sin.
We are commanded by Christ not to judge others so we leave final judgment to God who alone knows each person's heart.
With love and prayers in Christ.

Well, no. Suicide, from a Christian point of view is a sin on several planes. First, of course, it's murder. Second, it's despair, which is a complete rejection of faith and third, it's putting your will above the will of God.
Moving beyond the theological arguments, thoughts of suicide are the product of depression, and depression is an illness, a disease. The fact that it affects the mind doesn't make it a moral issue, or any less of a disease than diabetes or Parkinson's. It's an illness and it can be treated.
For a large part of my adult life I was clinically depressed and did not know it. One day I spent entirely on the floor of my apartment because I was terrified that if I stood up, I would leap right out the window. That got my attention.
A friend of mine recommended a psychologist whom I began seeing. At first, I went to his office three times a week and barely was able to speak. He sent me to a psychiatrist who prescribed Imipramine, which is an anti-depressant medication. It's not a "happy pill." What the medicine did was diminish the feelings of hopelessness and despair which had been plaguing me and allow me to make progress in treatment with my psychologist. I was on the medication for about 4 years.
At one point, thanks to the meds and the work with my psychologist, I was able to see that I could change the way I was thinking, and thus, the way I felt about life. Not long after that, I was slowly weaned off the medication.
I am now leading a very productive pleasant life. I'm happily married and I'm often among the top 10% of my profession. My interest in the things that give me joy has returned and most of the time, I'm a pretty happy guy.
I would be more than happy to discuss this problem with you at greater length. Drop me an e-mail and we can chat about it.
I promise you, there is a way out, there is hope.

No. If you commit suicide you will not go anywhere. You will only be dead. You may feel trapped by bad circumstances that will never change. That is a very strong feeling but it is not true. Things do change. They change. Choose to live and be curious about what will happen next. Almost all people who jump from bridges and live say they changed their mind the moment the stepped off. Do not do anything you can't reverse later. The only real thing you have is life. Don't throw it away.

Whatever YOU DO NOW... talk to someone. Life is very hard sometimes, as one who has battled depression, I KNOW. There is always a period when you feel there is no hope and no way out of the way you feel. Believe me there is. You have to get some help and at least talk to someone about the way your feeling. There is no shame to this and people, anybody will open up and listen. Just tell them the way you feel. As a last resort, if you have no one to talk to, please call a clinic near you that deals with depression and get there. Do not THINK of taking your life. You are just feeling very down and that's normal.

Well this is classified as self-murder. If you could repent, then you could get into heaven. However, since you'll be dead you'll have no chance to repent. Therefore the answer is no.
Jesus died for our sins and he rose again so that we can have a chance at a better life. If you take your own life, you'll be turning your back on His love.
You have to live so that God has a chance to use you. I recommend that you go to God in prayer and ask Him for help. If you pray with a sincere heart, He WILL answer your prayer.
Peace and Blessings :)

Let me tell you a story. A few weeks ago I tried to commit suicide and I failed but I did have a strange experience. I saw God and he told me that i shouldn't kill myself because I would never get into heaven that way. He told me that I was not finished doing what I was supposed to accomplish. He told me that life was a test for heaven and I needed to complete my tasks first. If you are feeling this way there are people out there to help you. If you go to church talk with your Pastor or fellow parishioners. Everyone will rally support for you when you are in hard times. Believe in God Pray for his light to shine on you and his grace protect you. I promise you God will prevail. My heart goes out to you as I know what he said to me.

No! Heaven is not a place you go when you die or to hell either for that matter..It is a myth. Heaven is a concept within you and everyone and we all must do our part to bring it here to earth out into the open where it can be seen and enjoyed by others...
There is no cause worthy to die for but there is a cause worthy to live for. To die for a cause is only a glory concept in the movies and war trying to satisfy the mourners...but there is no glory in death neither is there salvation.....stay here and work on the concept, bring it here so I can enjoy it too.

why have you had enough? isn't there someone with whom you can speak or turn for support? please, i'm not judging, however if what you say is true- that scares me deeply. while i believe and with the Rcc we are taught that a person is mentally incapicated when they opt to take their lives.... i wonder. if you are a Christian - please there are support groups out there that can help you through this troubled time. i can't and won't give you a definite answer.... God put you on this world for a reason and it is up to HIM to end your time. Please if you'rei n the Florida area - let me know I can tell you of some great places - retreats, life centers - while they are within the CAtholic denomination, you don't have to be Catholic to get help.
God bless.

I mean if you have to ask, you probably shouldnt do it. You need to seek help from the Lord. Don't do anything that could possibly seperate you from HIM.
I've been there, shoot I'm there every other day sometimes, but I know that even at our lowest state of mind, God challenges us to believe in him or to give up. I challenge you to believe in his plan for your life.
If you want to kill anything, kill the person inside of you that has made you come to this point. From here on do the exact opposite of what the other "you" would do. Be happy, find joy, seek God, always.
Peace.

You can take life.
Lean on Jesus. Don't let Satan deceive you. Life is worth the living just because Jesus Lives.
I am going to take you serious. Please call the suicide hot line and talk to someone.
Don't let your emotions mislead you into doing something that would be so final. God says you are valuable and He loves you. God is with you and has a plan for your life.
I will pray for you. Rebuke the thoughts of suicide, they are from Satan. Rebuke them in the name of Jesus and Satan will have to flee.
