There are several differnet applications which have an executable called guard.exe: Phoenix cme, as well as several antimalware programs. Download hijackthis from www.merijn.org and run it with the "Scan and Save Logfile" option. It will tell you the path for the guard.exe program so you can identify what program it is. Post the hijackthis.log to the hijackthis forum on castlecops or tomcoyote or email it to me and I can tell you if it's necessary and how to avoid having it slow down your computer.
