Are you sure it's bites and not hives? You could be having an allergic reaction to something, that is causing you to break out in hives.

Sometimes a rash is caused by kidney problems, but this sounds unlikely since you get it a couple of times a year. I've gotten this before and it is NOT fun. Since you can't get to a doc, have you tried benedryl? My doc also added in Pepcid---the plain stuff---to go with the antihistamine. Pepcid is an H2 blocker and H2 blockers can help with rashes. I used it as needed the last time I had it.

If it gets worse or you get other symptoms that OTC meds and home treatment aren't helping, then get yourself off for a visit to the doctor. Good luck!!!

It could be hives, they look like a bite even when you haven't been bitten. Put some hydrocortisone (for itching, at most pharmacies, and cheap, there's usually a store brand) on it or take 25mg of benedryl or spray on benedryl (for itching and to treat the allergic reaction, you can also get store brand, just make sure to read the ingredients to makes sure they are the same. Good luck!

Sometimes it's dry skin. It itches and burns too depending on if your clothing is rubbing against it.
