Hello!

My fiance and I have a problem and don't quite know where to start.

I am from Germany and live in the US and have the greencard.
My fiance is dutch and lives in Holland.

We want to be together and are looking for a way to enable him to come over here and work here.
We spoke to a few people and the conclusion seems to be that a company here in the US must want to hire him and apply for a working Visa for him.

Does anyone have ANY idea on how we could get started?
Which company would go through the extra trouble of applying for a working Visa?

My fiance has a Masters In Urban Planning from the University of Amsterdam, but after that started working in varies offices. He has worked for Insurance companies, has worked in connecting companies with clients and the other way around, and some of his positions included assitant responsibilities, and he is familiar with all the normal office computer programs (ie, excel, word, and so on)

He speaks and writes English and Dutch fluently and has a pretty good knowledge of German and French.
He is incredibly sweet and respectful and a very hard worker. He learns very quickly.

We are a little overwhelmed by the American job market and have no idea where to start.
Can anyone help us find a beginning?

Thank you so much!

As you already know, you can't file for a fiance visa; only US ciitzens can do that. And even if you marry him, the backlog for his category of immigrant visa is about five years.

As for a job for him, you might try Monster.Com and Craigslist. Here is more information about working in the US: Good luck!!

Most of the people I've known who got hired on working visas by US companies either went to school in the US and studied something like computer science or else worked for a computer company overseas that had US connections, and so got transferred to the US through their company (including my boss, who happens to be Dutch). In the computer industry it is quite common for companies to apply for worker visas for their employees, but I don't know about other fields. Good luck.

you can also get your fiance into the US by filing a petition for a k1 (fiance) visa. you can go to the USCIS website for more information regarding this. to get a company to file a petition for a working visa is tough.
