I want to cook a top sirloin steak. What is the best way to cook it? It's been marinating for about half an hour.

Bring it to room temperature before broiling or grilling to desired doneness.

Not throwing it in the broiler or on the grill cold from the fridge means you don't have to leave it to cook any longer than necessary e.g. it won't get overcooked.

Also, don't keep flipping it over and over. Every time you turn it over, you lose all the juices that accumulate on the top. Cook 5-7 minutes on one side then turn it over and cook only till it's cooked as much as you like it.

Allow the steak to stand at room temperature 20-30 minutes before cooking, and allow it to rest for 5 minutes after cooking.

If you can grill it, most recipies recommend a direct medium fire. You also might want to use the cookout calculator at charcoalbob.com. Enter the type of grill you have (charcoal or gas), the time you want to eat, the thickness and how you want it done. It will give you instructions for how to grill your sirloin steak so that it is ready at the time you want, grilled to your desired doneness. It also has grilling tips.

BBQ is the only way to go. Put the BBQ just below medium temperature, warm it up for about 5 mintes and put the steak on there. Flip it every couple minutes letting it cook very slowly. Keep the marinade in a small bowl beside you and brush it on every second time you flip it. Don't adjust the temperature. It will take a long time to cook it, but the best things in life always take time. You could cook it faster, but it won't be as tender and juicy as my way.

BBQ is the only way for me. Frying a steak in a pan is like buying a mansion in the ghetto.

I usually put a pat of butter in a pan and leave it on for about 5 min on high untill its VERY hot, then I place the steak on the pan (dont touch it) for about 4 min, then I flip the steak over and cook the other side for about the same time. That way its cooked outside, and pink in the center. Time may vary depending on steak thickness.

I constantly broil steaks. MMMM! They constantly prove sturdy. I in simple terms season them how i want, placed the oven on broil, while that is warm throw it contained in the oven (with the shelf someplace contained in the midsection) and enable it take a seat in there for roughly 7 min finding on how thick the steak is. Then I take it out and swap it over and placed it decrease back in for yet another 7 min. I cut back the biggest piece in a million/2 to make beneficial that is cooked by using sufficient and that's it :) Oh and in case you have an particularly broiling pan it is going to artwork superb, yet I in many cases cases in simple terms use a ordinary previous cookie sheet. My mom had a broiling pan, that's a typical pan on the backside however the suited piece sits contained in the pan with the suited/meat approximately 2 inches above the pan, it has holes or slits in it so the grease drips by using and remains faraway from the beef. Works okay.

On the barbecue, really hot, just enough to sear both sides and seal in the juices. Then turn the heat down and cook slowly for about 2-5 minutes on a side, depending on how wel done or rare you like your meat.
