Well than, you would be right. You don't have a soul either (probably).
But conscience?
The element of thought is most definitely active in my kitties mind. He goes crazy, with curiosity and playfullness, there is as much informal evidence to suggest that they have "minds" as we do.
Another error in the Bible: only the arrogant men who wrote this book could consider animals just tools of man.

dze...you have terrible excuses.
Are you so sure you are not preprogrammed as well? That your "thoughts" are the result of genetics and the specific environment?
When applying logic to one area of though, apply it to the rest as well.

Every animal has a soul within. Whenever a soul manifests a body... the existence of the soul within our heart is termed as our conscience.
The human life is just the next series of manifestations for the soul within. Before reaching the stage of human life, the soul has already manifested 7.3 million life forms. It started the journey as an amoeba (single cell formation), then multi-cell formation, insect life, plant life and then animal life.
Every human being has passed through every conceivable form of animal life. In the past... One has lived through the form of a kitten, dog and what not! As a human being who has reached 50... Can we criticize our form when 12 years of age. No human being is supposed to criticize or reject the lower forms of life one has already passed through.
The manifest body of every being is governed by the five senses and the mind. The senses and the mind exist in insect life, plant life and also animal life. In the lower forms of life... the mind power is in its infancy and not as developed as in human beings. The prime reason why animals never exercise the power of discrimination which is so vital to human beings! More on animals and souls - http://www.godrealized.org/do_animals_have_a_soul.html

I do have a soul, and I know where it's going. And the point to life is to not argue about a cat which's life has no huge relevancy in life and that literally takes up very little time in the scheme of the whole time paradigm. The point of life is to live it with meaning. I have found the only true meaning, and the only way a soul can get to heaven. So my question to you, is to ask not about your cat [which sadly has little significance in the meaning of living(physicall or spiritually)], but to ask you on your relationship to our creator. How is your relationship to the one who suffered, died and rose again for our sins? Is your soul complete, is it being fed with the living water and bread of life?
PS the arrogance would be found in the one saying they know all about the bible even when they have not read thru it and studied it. Animals were made to be under our care... its in Genesis. We were vegetarians and didnt even eat meat in the beginning till sin interrupted the perfect world. This is not Gods fault, but mans own choice, becauce God loves us enough to let us make our decisions. (but that another view for another discussion)
Wow, if you made thru reading all of that, thank you. God bless, have a good day.

but their conscious only encompasses things in their immediate surrounding .. theyre pre-programmed to react in certain ways to their environment unlike us that have the ability to reason and create our own destiny .

If it's an error in the Bible that your kitten has no soul, please show us where it says that.
