I have been amazed at how this "religion" section of "Yahoo Answers" brings so much hatred out of people toward God. It becomes a platform for people who "hate" God to take crude shots at Him. And why it only seems to be the God of the Bible. Where is the hatred towards the other gods?

Has He done something so bad to you? Has a "Christian" so offended you?

I mean this as a serious question, knowing that some of you will use this again as a platform to attack God and His people. But I'd really like to know why there is so much hatred and anger...so please answer.

Thank you.

To Bandycat...
He does not represent the God of the Bible...His Word says that He is not willing that any would perish...He was all to come to repentance.

It would be no different than one of your friends going around saying really bad things, things you don't agree with...and then having everyone come down on you because of it.

The God of the Bible loves people so much that He would allow His own Son to be sacrificed so that we can live forever.

To Shadow...

Is it a myth that Israel exists as a nation again? Name one other nation that exists after being removed from this world as a nation. When Israel became a nation again in 1948, they were immediately attacked...and won against overwhelming odds.

In 1967, 30 nations came against them...when all was said and done, Israel took back more of the land that was once theirs.

The nation was swampland and desert...but now is farmland, trees...a beautiful place...just as God's Word said it would be.

Intelligence?? Spend some time in the Bible...66 books written by forty authors over a period of 1500 years...on different continents, some written by kinds, other books by fishermen, etc. Some books written in prisons, some in palaces...yet every book is intertwined.

Man did not & does not now have the intelligence. Man could not & can not create the universe we live in.

Man will never be able medically to live forever.

You are WAY overmatched by God's intelligence.

I think it's for the same reason Christians get their undies in a bunch when non-believers ask accusatory questions about God... believers and non-believers alike get awfully frustrated when one group keeps asking the same questions and the other group keeps giving the same answers and the first group keeps giving the same rebuttals. Nobody likes circular arguments. And when people get frustrated because others can't understand their point, they often shoot their mouth off to make others look bad. That's what happens to me sometimes, anyway, although I try not to.

And sometimes I even hate being associated with "Christians," because so many of them really are hypocritical and fake. "The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians, who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, then walk out the door, and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable."

It's so sad that people hate or attack or simply don't believe in God because of the very people that are supposed to out witnessing... but I definitely understand it. And an anonymous forum like this is certainly a safe way for people to get out how they really feel; people who post questions should realize that they're going to get silly, immature, twisted answers (not that that justifies it, because it's still maddening to ask a real question and just get a bunch of hate-filled answers in return, but the askers have been put on inquiry notice by looking around here first).

the next generation beleives more in the self than in some upper being because we can get so much more as far as technology, monetary income, and social possibilities at such a young age that we dont need god.
god is just an idea created by the poor folk who wanted more than sheep.
if you like the life you live in, then you dont need to want more, and you dont need a god.
and the other religions are a minority; but it depends on what version of answers you're looking at.
another thing is that this generation is more intelligent at such a young age than any other previous generation.
personally, i laugh when people say "He and Him and My Holy God."
it's like believing in the tooth fairy.

and as it is we are all conforming slowly to an orwellian society. ergo, we dont need to think and live a childhood and want more out of life because its all there already.
why waste life hoping for more when it may not exist?
its like woofing down a piece of cake only to realize it was the last piece. and youre still starving.

but its too late.

Because this generation is a faithless and perverse generation. They are lovers of themselves more than lovers of God.They are followers of every abomination that is in the earth, hating even the Word of God, which gives righteous instruction. The evil hearted and faithless people here on Y! Amswers is but a glimpse of the evil that fills the entire world. The only hope for this evil world is the return of Christ. I pray fervently for that time to arrive.

I don't think it's hatred toward God but toward the hypocrisy of some of the religious people.

Here's a quote from Pat Robertson, a self-professed Man of God:

"Summon the Lord's mighty thunderbolts of bloody vengeance to righteously smite U.S. State Department closet pinkos, .. let them be instead splattered into sanguine plumes of flesh-frying nothingness by Samsonite suitcase nukes!

Pray to Yahweh, infallible white man who sits on a toilet-like White Throne of Judgment on a carpet of stars, defecating the unsaved into a swirling, fecal-stained porcelain portal to Hell, that the remaining liberal Supreme Court Justices – are of whom are old, feeble, and riddled with secret VD even Chinese whores don't get – all fall victim to sudden, career-ending, cranium-imploding brain aneurysms!

Finally, inasmuch as the Earth and all her creatures, flora and fauna, are ours to command and to profit from at the expense of the unsaved, remember always what an angel told me: that equal parts gasoline and styrofoam mixed will produce a flammable elixir known as napalm. And verily I say unto thee, may the heads of the EPA shriek as they learn that just as sin cannot be cleansed from their liberal souls, napalm cannot be wiped from their burning flesh! Glory!"

How could any intelligent person NOT hate that stuff!

What really bothers me is that even though there are some that defend the Father, there is not enough to step up to the plate and defend Him! I think it is a sign of the times we are living in! I am glad you asked this question! God bless you!

I agree with you. People are mean here to God, and it is very nasty. Being offended by one is no reason to attack the whole. I do not think this is fair to those of us who believe in God, and try to follow his will, although knowing exactly what this is hard to tell...

I agree with smokersm... not enough Christians to step up to the plate.

Our Father warned us that there will be people such as these.

They hate us because they hated Jesus Christ first. (John 15:18) And we carry His Name.
They belong to the world, we don't belong to the world.

So far 3 unbelievers answered your question.
They can't even give a logical answer.
