Tattoos are cool. Got my first tattoo when I was 16 and was addicted. Really look for what you want, remember its permanent. My first tattoo I don't like anymore, at the time I just had to have one.

Don't get a tattoo just because you want one now. Think about a tattoo you want and wait for it, if you really want it it will mean just as much to you a few years later. Or copy the wannabe tattoo onto a posterboard and put it up in your room for a month or more, see how long you can stand looking at it. But really, I'd wait. I hardly have heard of a person who gets a tattoo that young and doesn't regret it later. Ever watched the famous show Miami Ink on TLC? It's about a bunch of famous tattoo artists and every one of them regrets their first tattoos that young 15-17. Kat Von D one of the more famous ones just got her whole upper arm lasered to remove the childhood tattoos to get a real one with real meaning and real work. Just wait it out. Any good professionial artist won't do it while you're that young anyhow. It may be legal in Tennessee, but everywhere else it's illegal and they won't do it.

I was 17 when I got my first tattoo and I regret it . I should have waited til I was older . I would wait if I was you . But if you absolutly can't wait then just get something small and put it in a place where it's not that visible. Do some research and get something meaningful and also be prepared to spend some money . Make sure you go to a professional and make sure the place is clean and sterile. :)

I honestly think that if you don't know what you want to get, you probably shouldn't get one. Tattoos are permantent. Yes, they're fun to show off now, but they're also extremely personal and should be something important to you. That being said, pick something that you really really want and won't regret.

Sites are as follows:

And just google it, if you'd like.
Also, maybe draw up your own design,
That might make it more personal for you.

Things are going to change quite rapidly over the next few years for you and things will have different meanings than they used to.

Here's a rather large tattoo design gallery:

Take the next few years to decide what kind of tattoo would have the most profound meaning to you. Browse through a lot of designs and think about body placement.

You are very young and even if it takes you five years to decide on your first tattoo, you will still have plenty of time to enjoy and show off your first tattoo!

If you don't have something in mind and are just picking to pick, you might regret it.. and no I'm not saying you're too young.. I knew the tattoo I wanted younger than you and I have 5 now..

I would go with something you feel strongly about, it is forever. If you don't want a specific picture, there are thousands of tribal designs. I went with my favorite animal and football team with tribal also. The Bengal. WhoDey!!!
