I'm not quite sure what your question is. Are you asking what a sour cream cake is? It's usually a white cake with sour cream in the batter. It helps keep the cake moist. You can also use a mix but use sour cream rather than the oil.
Check at www.allrecipes.com and you'll find lots of recipes for sour cream cakes. You can buy sour cream in plastic tubs at the supermarket. It's a dairy product. If you don't have sour cream where you live, you can substitute yogurt.

Sour cream is available in 500gm containers in the dairy department of any grocery store. If you make a sour cream coffee cake, the cake is very moist and tasty. I do not know how to make sour cream, but if you add two teaspoons of vinegar to one cup of milk you will have a buttermilk substitute or a sour milk equivalent which is good for making pancakes or waffles. When you use any sour cream or sour milk in a recipe, you must also use baking soda(1 teaspoon or so) in the recipe as well as all the other ingredients.

It is usually by potato chip dip or cottage cheese.alot of dips are made of sour cream. Or you can use same amount of plain yogurt. sour cream is great in a cake .I would use it. It does not cost much. good luck

IMO is non dairy style,
Sour cream is the cream, solidified. it's near the cottage cheese and yogurt
