I am currently doing a project on how Europe effects global warming and I need to create a a future policy or plan that can help Europe slow down Global Warming. I already have one idea and that is what America is kind of doing right now. What they do is they're giving big industries a certain amount of credits at the beginning of each year. The more credits they have, the more Greenhouse Gases they are allowed to put off into the atmosphere. If they go over their limit than they have to pay a fine and if they have credits left over at the end of the year, than they can either sell them to another company or sell them back to the government. Now me personally, I don't really believe in Global Warming but if you have any links or ideas that can help me, that would be wonderful!

Ok Honestly you guys, I'm not looking for proof of Global Warming because I do really believe it is a real thing. And I am also writing this report on Europe, not America. But if there is something that America is doing or another region that is doing something to slow down this "Global Warming" (please something specific. For example don't say, "Well to stop Global Warming you just need to spread the knowlegde around and ride the public bus!) I need something that is realistic. Thanks.

How much do volcanos contribute to warming?????? How much closer is the earth to the sun than it was 100---150 years ago????? I would research very deeply and not rely on one source.
Ask yourself why you don't believe in global warming and prove or disprove. Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see until you can prove or disprove. Research can be fun. I am 71 years of age and have been researching many subjects for the most part of my life. I have researched volcanos it can be fun. Try it, then search long on the distance the earth is from the sun compared to past years. Have fun.

The carbon credits are a way of enforcing conservation in a semi-voluntary way, but the only real solution is new energy sources. Spend money on research into safer nuclear power. Cheaper solar cells. Fusion research. Things like that.

In the first place, how do you know Europe is causing part of the global warming. There is no scientific proof just conjecture. It may be part of the climatic cycle. The sun's output is increasing .05% every decade and Mars and Pluto are known to be warming up. Do we have any part of that warming ?

Added -- Most US states have passed legislature that requires utility companies (especially electric) to produce a certain percentage of its energy from renewable sources. Most states are going to wind power.

First, you appear to be confusing U.S. and European policy. It is currently the EU that has established a cap and trade approach to CO2 emission requirements, not the US. This is a typical big government approach.
