This is a new answer, but I felt I could expound on the answers you got the other day, since I am a U.S. Citizen living in Canada.

In order to live and work in Canada, even for just a year, you will have to apply for a work visa and/or permanent resident status, depending on what your plans are.

The official website is http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/ and contains all information, applications forms, and instructions. It is very well laid out and easy to put together what you need.

If you can get a job lined up ahead of time you will have a better chance of approval, as well as stating that it is temporary if that is your plans.

If you would like more detailed info on the process other than at the website, feel free to msg me.

Hi Teri - click on your name over to the left and then click on the green tab that says "questions". It's about halfway down the page. That will list all the questions you've asked.

Hope this helps!
