Ok. So I asked this boy to give me his address so I could go over to his house, and he responded if i thought you were serious I would give it to you in a heart beat...
What does he mean by this?
and what does serious mean in this case?

Meaning that he thinks that you are offering yourself to him. Most "boys" believe that when a girl asks to come over it is for "sex". Unless your serious to have sex with him I'd play along and laugh it off with him. Boys are not the ones to ask their addresses for unless you want to "play". If you wanna talk, your girlfrineds are for that. Good luck!

He thought you were kidding, and playing around. Assuming that you were joking with him and he was afraid to give it to you because he thought it was a prank.
