Atarax by itself produces drowsiness. Also, they are both antihistamines so you would increase risk of dry mouth, blurred vision, fast heaqrt rate, urinary retention and constipation. I think if you take the atarax in the AM and then something to sleep at night athat would be okay. Your doctor should be able to tell you if the two are compatable. But if not there are other sleeping meds to help you!
