It's 100% a scam! Don't send them money!! No credible place will ask for a "deposit" for a loan. Try different banks and credit unions. Most places will work with your credit because they want your business. Good luck!

I think it's a scam.

Try talking to a professional at your bank about getting a loan, also, you can research online to find institutions that could loan you the money you need.

Before doing this though, decide if what you want all this money for is really necessary. And if it can wait.

If it can, try some techniques to raise your credit score. Just about anything that requires making payments to an account raises that score: cell phones, credit cards, car payments, financing options with stores (electronics, etc).

Find a non-profit credit counselor in your area. Phone book is a good start depending on your local. You may have to check with the nearest bigger city, metro type area.

If your credit is bad now... you are not doing something correctly already. Please get valid traditional help first before you make any type of a loan from any place. Even a friendly bank only has their own $ gains to think about. They are not worried about you!
BUT the many not-for-profit credit counselors really do have your interest at heart. Check on-line at places like http://www.crown.org perhaps they have a local listing for your area.
It will seem awful to spiral down further into debt because you need as little as $4,000.
You are doing poorly now... try someone else's way and maybe the just may be able to help you.

There are a lot of .org places that can help. I think of Crown because of pages like this http://www.crown.org/financialwisdom/church/budgetcoach.asp

You may have to copy and paste it to your address bar.

Never, Never send money first for anything. This sounds like a real scam. Find a local business and check with the Better Business Bureau before making a loan from anyone.

SCAM!

I am SO GLAD you did not fall for this! Can you please post this person's info so others will be aware as well. Also, report them to Yahoo!.

It's never, ever a good idea to send money to an anonymous person in order to receive money.

A reputable place for bad credit loans is http://www.CashCall.com .

It sounds like a scam to me too. I had a few experiences similar to this one, people offering me money to cash a cashier's check and transfer money to their account over seas via western union. I wouldn't get a loan from anyone over seas.

Be cautious. If you're in the US, there are payday loan places all over.
