If you've never had either......then Champagne will most likely taste better. There are so many different wines some fruity and some very dry. Champagne doesn't have a very strong taste in comparison to wine.

As a collector of wine for many years, I can tell you that both have their place in the world. Champagne IS wine, after all. Most people like Champagne or sparkling wine without truly appreciating its complexities and subtleties. Learning to appreciate a variety of wines is one of the truly most enjoyable journeys in life. Learn to love them all would be my advice, but it is, after all, a matter of one's personnel taste. Learn about wines and you will enjoy them more.

If you like the bubbly effect, then go with champagne. If you want a buzz, wine. If you want a freakin' buzz, Mad Dog.
