Well, me and my boyfriend have been going out for a year now and well the problem is (one anyway) that he is terrible at public affection at school. It's quite sad actually, i've talked to him about it and he said he was scared to but didnt know why he was scared. Now I get jealous whenever i see other couples hugging and holding eachother. I dont know what to do about that. I love him with all my heart and wanna be with him for as long as i can. another problem is that whenever he doesnt give public affection or ignores me around his friends, i feel like he doesnt want me around, like hes almost getting sick of me. When i try to talk to him about it, all he says is "I love you" and "I try to ahow public affection" or "I'm not getting sick of you" and then he gets mad cuz i say hes getting sick of me. He's definately not as romantic as he used to be either :( So, anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Well I believe most guys dont want to be too public with their affection. Why do you want your affection to be so public? Also he might need some time just to be alone with his friends Just gradually try to make him more comfortable being public with his affection. Maybe hold hands when you all are sitting close to each other.

Dont feel just because he doesnt give you affection in public that he doesnt care for you.

Not everyone is comfortable with PDA. I know I'm not because there are people who are uncomfortable with seeing it. A hug should be okay and maybe forcibly hold his hand and act like it's nothing. perhaps he will get use to the idea and not be so uncomfortable. Another possiblility is his friends could be teasing him (especially if you've been goin out for a year and havn't done it yet) because boys are stupid and will do things like that, so maybe he's just under the presser of his friends. Next time you're alone with him maybe try standing up to him and getting him to tell you what's bothering him. Ask him if he's just uncomfortable with PDA and why or see if maybe his friends don't like you so he doesn't want to be all over you around them. Try to avoid asking him if his friends are teasing him because it probly hurts. Good luck and be strong.

PDA's can be kind of intiminating. It is always good to start out slow, holding hands. Then move on to hugging and pecking, then kissing but that's where it should probably stop because PDA's can be annoying to other people too. It sounds like he is in love with you and he is just nervous and scared. Maybe you should just try and hold his hand more often when it's the two of you, not at school, somewhere else and then work it into school. It's easier (atleast for me) to have PDA's with complete strangers around then people I know.

Yep, shy, i'm a guy and it takes bravery
Yep, one time when I first met this girl and all these guys were around I kissed her right in front of them. I figured that if she liked me enough she would let me or turn away if she didn't. Well she did and I fell in love with her, then later, I became very shy about it. Crazy thing about it I think this is why I ended up losing her. I think she felt like you did and she ended up backing away from me. To this day I could not understand but I actually still love her. So don't give up just yet, hang in there.

If he doesnt show you affection, then show him how..you show him all the affection, so that he has no choice but to show it back, thats what i did with my husband when he was my boyfriend and it worked !! it can also be that sometimes boys dont like to be all girly around their friends,,they might be scared tht his friends will make fun of him for being all lovey dovey with his girl..it happens..as long as he loves you and you love him, i think it should be all that matters..

Maybe try little steps with him. Come to a compromise try something small like just holding hands down the hallway. When he with his friends try maybe to sneak into conversation and say something goofy or smart depend on what they are talking about. Then slightly maybe do a pat on his back or brush your hand with his nothing to really notice just work up to it.

A lot of people don't really like PDA's. It really has no reflection on you. Tell him how you feel, but don't push him. It doesn't matter if other people see you guys being affectionate towards each other. What matters is how you treat each other.

When you get older and look back on this, it won't seem as important as it is to you now.

Men who doesn't give importance or attention to their gf know they tend to be loved more by the girl so it's probably a tactic that you will love him more.

Just dress super cute & wear a nice lipstick .He will go crazy if he won't touch you even in public !

I have always found that when a guy starts being "not as romantic as he used to be" that you need to give him some space. He needs to realize how much he misses you when you are not around. Give him some time to wonder where you are and what YOU are doing!
