One of my dogs was a regular visitor to nursing homes for years and I can tell you it's something to experience. Many of the residents simply burst into tears at the sight of a dog or the chance to pet one again. I got to hear a lot of stories about beloved dogs they had in the past. It's very rewarding. I think a red bandanna would look great on your dog. Have fun.

I bring my puppy to the nursing home too and a lot of the residents just love her. I usually put a pink collar or bandana on her because then they call her "she" instead of "he". :) bright colors like purple or red might also be nice and cheerful. The residents of the nursing home will love seeing your cute dog!

I did this too with my goldens. The elderly always want to see the doggie with the purple scarf. They really seemed to love the purple! Not a dark purple but a bright purple. They said it made them feel happy. It didnt hurt that my dogs was just loveing all the attention too. :)
Good girl for doing this it is very rewarding.

RED or HOT PINK. Maybe you could find or make her a elastic color with pieces of fabric knotted to it. That is so cute and the elderly people will notice it and love it, you can make matching ones for her ankles. Just have her wear it before you go so that she can get used to it too.

What a wonderful thing to do, and what a beautiful dog! We used to bring our lab mix to the nursing home almost every day to see my uncle when he was there. There was one woman who they said never smiled until she saw our dog. She wouldn't stay away from him.
I, too, got the pleasure of listening to people share their stories of their pets from years ago. My uncle was in his 80's, and things weren't going well for him. His face would light up when he saw our Shane, who wiggled his whole body when he saw my uncle. It made my uncle feel pretty important, as he'd tell Shane's story over and over of being rescued from the shelter, of how he'd pick up anything you'd drop and hand it back to you, and how much love he brought to our family.
My uncle is gone, so is our beloved Shane. Keep doing what you're doing. If it makes a difference to one person there, it's made all the difference in the world!
