idiotology controls the world?

Producing oilfields do not just get oil coming up from underground when they drill a well...They also get natural gas (methane), sand water and other "stuff" (sulfur) that all come up as a mixture.

The mixture that comes up is run thru separators that separate the different products from each other (oil, methane, water, carbon dioxide, sulfur, sand, etc.) and send them on their way, but many fields have no gas pipelines available anywhere nearby to pump the methane gas into, or the carbon dioxide for that matter, so they repressurize these products and send them back underground. This save the gases and water for future use and helps the oilfield produce more oil by repressuring the wells to drive more oil to the surface. The natural gas can be reclaimed in the future.

The oilfields in Alaska use this method because there is no natural gas pipeline running from prudhoe bay or the other fields to the lower states.

This is not idiotology, it is conservation of resources.
