Natural Peanut butter can be a great source of proteins. However, it is also a source of high fat, so overdoing it will be bad. Natural peanut butter will basically be Peanuts and salt, if you choose. Stay away from all the chemcial and sugar laden brands.

Use the kraft food journal I've linked to below to keep track of what you are consuming. Be realistic with the measurements so that you can get an accurate 'diary'.

Good luck to you in your weight loss goal.

Peanut butter isn't that good for you but it's okay in moderation. If you are going to eat it, avoid anything with hydrogenated oils. They turn into hydrogenated fats and are very hard for the body to get rid of. Try Crazy Richards peanut butter, it contains only peanuts and can be found at most stores.

Not really a bad thing just don't finish the jar. Peanut butter is good for you especially if it is the oily type from the shops that sell it without hydrogenated oils. A little bit every day is good.

No food is all bad or all good. You need to eat a variety of foods, watch your total caloric intake & increase you caloric output (exercise & activity). If you want to make room for peanut butter in your daily diet, be aware that nuts, while high in proteins, are also high in fats & oils, so you need to cut back elsewhere.

If you are replacing other protiens it will have more benifits then not eating any. If you just like It buy lite but read the jar because they raise the sugar content when they remove fats.

If your family has a history of Kidney Stones it may be a bad thing. After mine were removed, I found out a chemical that is in nuts in general, can cause kidney stones. If you have a family history as I do...then you may want to decrease your intake of PB.
