"What separates us as believers in Christ is much less than what unites us." (Pope John XXIII)
Almost all important doctrine is completely agreed upon between Catholic Christians and other Christians.
Here is the joint declaration of justification by Catholics (1999), Lutherans (1999), and Methodists (2006):
By grace alone, in faith in Christ's saving work and not because of any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping us and calling us to good works.
There are many minor doctrine issues and some major cultural traditional differences which, I believe, do not matter that much.
A Catholic worships and follows Christ in the tradition of Catholicism which, among other things, recognizes that Christ made Peter the leader of His new Church and Pope Benedict XVI is Peter's direct successor.
With love in Christ.

Nothing.
Roman Catholics are Christians but not all Christians are Roman Catholic.
The question should be whats the difference between Catholics, Presbetryians, Methodists, Lutherans, Seventh day Adventists, Mormons, Christian Science, Jahova witness......all are Christian religions!

Catholics are christians. A better question would be what is the difference between Catholics and Protestants. Even that would be hard to answer, as there are so many flavors of Protestantism.

I will not comment on individual Catholics. As for the religion itself (which I grew up in), most of my disagreement as a Christian has to do with their doctrine that has been accumulating over the centuries. You can see most of my issues here...

As you can see from the link, it really does not matter what I think, it is what they adhere to that goes contrary to the Word of God that is at issue. Catholicism is a sect of Christianity. How close they keep to the Word of God will be what separates the wheat from the chaff.

One of the big differences concerns the 'priesthood'
In the old testament, people brought their sin offerings and other concerns to the priest . . . the priest went to God
According to the Book of Hebrews, the curtain is torn away and the believer is his own priest . . . the believer goes before the Father as a son to a Father.
This is a HUGE difference . . .
The whole 'Mary mother of Jesus' is another HUGE difference. No one denies that Mary was the mother of Jesus, but what part she plays beyond that is HUGE
There are other differences

Sigh... Roman Catholics are Christians. Christianity is broken down into hundreds of sects and subsects. See:

Catholics are the first christian church. all of the other christian churches that are around now broke off from the Catholic Church for one reason or another.
it seems a lot of people don't like the fact that we hold Jesus' mother, Mary, in such high regard. God seemed to think she was special, as he chose her to be the mother of his only son.
