I believe you will be required to have basic skills in swimming. Firstly enough to keep you alive in the water if an accident was to occour (God forbid), Survival backstroke is easy =D lie back and do simple strokes.

There is no swimming portion to flight attendant training. They stopped doing that over 20 years ago.

no, but learning how to swim at any age is very easy. The fear of going under is the hardest to get over, swimming per say is very easy.
