Hey, mine make me smile every time I walk by them! :)

I built my own solar hot air panels. (They produce direct heat and not electricity and cost a fraction of what electric panels cost.) My friends marvel at the simplicity and how well they function. I enjoy my free heat.

Depedning on the area, solar panels can be teid in to sell electricity back to the provider, or can be tied in to supply part of a house's electrical need; although many solar installations are quite expensive, in the long run, they pay off after a while and can save you money. I'm not sure how long it would take to pay back the investment. At maximum it would be 10 - 20 years
