Yes to me it is. Me and my sister have different dads and we were never raised as oh that is my half sister it has just always been oh that is my big sister. I think especially if you grew up with them then the half can just be dropped and that is your whol sybling. I could never introduce my sister by saying oh this is my half sister.

Yes they are especially if they are raised with you. My husband has three half brothers. One he was raised with and two he hardly knows and hasn't spoken to in decades. But I would definitely consider the one he was raised with as immediate family. He happens to be closest to that brother then he is his full brother. Besides wither your father or mother lives with you they are still immediate family and their other biological children are as well.

Of course...they are a blood relative...but a step-sister/brother are ALSO considered immediate too...there is no reason to separate a family

In a family situation yes, as far as business goes and bereavement or FMLA rights, it would depend on your company and how they want to address it.

Are you asking because of a funeral or to take time off under FMLA??

yes....if you think about it how can someone halfway be your brother or sister....doesnt' make since...my dad used to tell me my sis and brother are only my half...but I grew up. They Are your sister and brother, therefore part of your immediate family

yes, they are considered immediate family because they are your sibling regardless if they only share half of your blood. but in some cases they would not be.

Yes...they share half the same bloodline as you right...they are immediate family then.
