I want to see what the yahoo community thinks of this situation.
A friend of mine is dating a boy, she's liked him for about a year (possibly 2 years, I can't remember and I don't want to ask her.) and they started going out about 3 weeks ago, but he hasn't kissed her yet. Why could that be?
She kissed him on the cheek today, and he was quiet and then went to talk to his coach.
She wants to know why he hasn't.And I'm curious too.
And since she'll never ask the community, I'm doing it for her.

I don't know if he's kissed a girl before. I know he had a girlfriend or two before and that he's recieved oral sex. So I'm gonna assume he's been kissed.

He has a low self-esteem. She should just tell him, get into it, or get out of it. He needs a swift kick.

I honestly couldn't tell you...i think he thinks it's too early in the relationship. I've been dating my boyfriend for over a year, and he still hasn't kissed me...partially bcuz my parents banned it, but yeah...just tell ur friend to wait a couple weeks and see where the relationship goes. Maybe he isn't ready for THAT kind of committment yet, maybe he's just looking for a *friend* girlfriend...you know what i mean? Kudos for taking the first step though...i haven't been that brave!

It's difficult for some people maybe he hasn't kissed anyone b4 and he's worried that he won't be good at it. Or maybe he's just not ready. I was like that for a long time until one day I couldn't take it anymore I really liked this guy who was also my friend at the time, I just walked right up to him and kissed him right on the lips and he was flattered and speechless at the same time.

He's more than likely really shy. A good piece of advice for your friend, "don't ask for a kiss, take one." A small peck on the cheek is at least something, that's not saying go out and all make out fest with the guy.

Three weeks seems like a short time to be together. He probably needs more time to get comfortable with kissing. She seems to be going too fast.

Some guys like to move slow and get to know each other. Its not like he doesnt like, he just may want to take things slow and make them last!
