I'm looking into working at the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut, but I am from California so it would be a big move and I have some questions. Connecticut is pretty far away and I have a crappy car, so I was thinking of just selling my car here and then flying over there. So is there any apartment buildings or anywhere else I could live temporarily within walking distance of the casino? Or within walking distance of a bus stop to the casino?

Also, if anyone is a poker dealer for foxwoods casino:
Of course I would have to start at part time. Is it easy to get more hours from other dealers? Because I would be wanting to work as many hours as possible, and the shift doesn't matter.

Thanks

I drove by Foxwoods a lot when I worked in CT.

It is, to be nice, in the middle of nowhere. Tons of residential/empty town land that just happens to have an enormous casino. You'll probably need a car if you want any flexibility, but I'd be surprised if they didn't run some sort of bus system.

I'm sure there are apartments, but it seems to be mostly suburban-style houses around there.

Any reason you want to make a huge life change to deal in Ledyard, Connecticut? You can deal at age 18 in California, right?

I live in CT, and I go to Foxwoods every other week, and I can tell you that, there are lots of buses availble for workers, and the casino is in the country, in the middle of nowhere. And, the cost of living in CT is expensive. Rent in a somewhat decent apartment would run you $1000 and up, honestly try Atlantic City. i think you'd like that better.

Dude, Foxwoods in on an Indian reservation! You will need a car there. Keep in mind that rents are not cheap anywhere on the east coast!!

Look, Foxwoods sucks! Go to vegas and work there!! Trust me.
