I have been hypo for just over 4 years. I have never felt good, even when my blood tested normal. I just found out in January after a thyroid ultrasound and an ultrasound guided biopsy of my thyroid that I have many nodules and cysts on my thyroid. It is enlarged and I am scheduled to have surgery for a total thyroidectomy in April. Hopefully I will finally feel like a regular person after my surgery.

I am hyperthyroid -- Graves Disease. Some times the tiny sliver of thyroid I still have springs to life and I go really hyper, which is no fun. And sometimes the synthroid isn't enough so I go hypo, which is about the worse feeling in the world ... I truly envy the people who take one pill a day for life and never have another problem. I wish that for you.

This has been an issue for me for more than 25 years. When your thyroid is normalized, you should feel well. And you will know as soon as you need to get tested and the meds adjusted. You know too well what the symptoms are!! Just be aware when you feel off and do something about it.
