It depends on your guys relationship point blank, ether you got what it takes to work thru it or your better off asking why do you care more then him.

If I am understanding this you or someone you know started a rumor that caused a break up ..yes? If so the best thing to do is come clean .. tell who ever was the one to break up that " .... " started a rumor and it isn't true ..say you are sorry and willing to do whatever to make amends.. you may get flack at first but then it may all work out and you have hopefully learned a valuable lesson and you will be at ease ..
