I'm sorry that your dog is gone, and I can understand why you would want to have him or her cremated and keep the ashes. I have the ashes of my very first dog and they are in an urn that I keep near the head of my bed, as that is where she liked to sleep. Sigh.

Back to your question though. The cost of cremation depends on the vet and the weight of the dog. I don't remember what I paid to have my first dog cremated, but I can tell you that I had to have two dogs put sleep two years ago within a 6 month time frame. One dog was 65 pounds and the other was 85, and the vet charged the same amount each time. It was $252 for the final injection and a group cremation. If I would have requested to have the ashes returned, it would have been double that amount for each dog. That did not include the price of an urn, which again depends on the type of urn you pick.

As much as I wish I would have kept both dogs' ashes, I just could not afford over $500 per dog. It still saddens me that they had to be cremated with other pets.

It sounds as though you've lost your pet, and I'm so sorry for you. I'll say a prayer for you both tonight.

Your veterinarian should be able to give you a price for the service they work with. I had a labrador retriever cremated four years ago and it was about $100.00.

It will depend to a degree on where you live and how many vendors are available that offer this service.

im not sure of the cost for a dog, but i got my cat creamated and cost me $90..that was about 6 years ago..that also included the box/urn for his ashes..it could be a little more for a bigger animal, but this is just a little guideline for you to go by..hope it helped some..

It depends on the weight, I believe. It costed around $75 to cremate my Australian Cattle Dog mix, and I'd say she was around 35-40 lbs.

From what I heard it is by the weight. I'd say around $150.00 I would call to get the exact cost.
