i heard that if you are overheated from say exercise or running, it is dangerous to drink very very cold water as it may cause your stomach to rupture. is that true?

The coldest water you can get is ice and that has never hurt anyone.

Yes or at least put ur body into shock. After running our PFT, they advice us not to pour cool water on our heads. How much more near freezing water inside you.

No. It might give you somewhat of an upset stomach but that's it. Think about it. The coldest water can get is ice. No one has died from eating ice.

this is a true story...i knew a man in excellent health,he was a firefighter.he jogged everyday.it was very hot one day.he did his jogging.came home and drank his water right out of the fridge and he did die.i heard it was a heart attack.he was in his young 30s.

hmmm that firefighter guy, maybe he overexerted himself or did not eat as healthy as his lifestyle.

i wouldnt drink cold cold cold water after excercising. for me, i just feel uncomfortable, i like drinking cool/water temp out of tap instead.
