If you are talking about the Old Testament it was a man's world in those days and still in the Middle Eastern countries. That was just the custom of the day. Women were possessions. Aren't you glad that you live in a day and country where you are treated better.

Because men can not get PG. Women need a man to fight off the wild beast and provide for her and the children. Women were not meant to raise children alone. And the men went to whores, they left the good women alone. Bible or not, this is how it has always been until the pill and the woman's movement. But I think that each sex should be abstinent until marriage, especially in an era of STD's.

Boy, the lack of real answers here sure speaks to the ignorance of the yahoo answers community.
According to the Bible, it's not ok for anyone to have sex before marriage.
Look for the key word "fornication" in the King James Bible which sounds awful but it simply means to have sex before you are married.
Or just read these passages:
Romans 1
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=52&chapter=1&version=9
1 Corinthians 6:18
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=53&chapter=6&version=9
This is a good one:
1 Corinthians 7:2
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=53&chapter=7&version=9
Your spouse owns your body.
1 Thessalonians 4:3
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=59&chapter=4&version=9
3For this is the will of God, EVEN YOUR SANCTIFICATION, that ye should abstain from FORNICATION
Aside from the bible, IF ( a HUUGE if) a man is permitted to have sex outside of marriage, yet a woman is not, then it is because the woman can get pregnant and if she does she is either going to kill it, or raise it up without a father, which is a HUGE reason our society is crumbling.
However, a single man can't have sex unless he does it with a woman. So he's either having sex with a single girl, or he's committing adultery, (or he's gay - yuck). So I repeat, NO ONE should have sex outside of marriage.

According to the Bible, it's not okay for either sex. Society, however, is a little different. It's more socially acceptable for a guy to go around and have a lot of sex, and he's often considered to be a 'stud'. A woman doing that, however, is often seen as a s l u t. It's not fair, but that's how it is.

It's not.
"Reproofs of instruction are the way of life, to keep you from the evil woman, from the flattering tongue of the seductress. Do not lust after her beauty in your heart, nor let her allure you..." Proverbs 6:20-25
Chapter 7 deals entirely with a young man stumbling into sexual sin. There are many other examples in the New Testament, especially in the letters to the Corinthians and in Paul's instructions to Timothy.
Not that it's okay, but maybe in pre-Christian times, when men were expected to be able to provide well for their wives, and the average groom was well into adulthood by the time he was married, people assumed he couldn't "keep it in his pants" that long and kind of looked the other way. You know?
God loves purity. And He forgives us if (when) we fall short, if we mean it when we repent.
The basis for maintaining sexual purity would be so that children would be conceived and born into a stable household by parents fully committed to one another for life. Just another one of God's ways of trying to look out for us.

I don't think it says anywhere in the Torah, Bible, or Qur'an that it's ok for anyone to have sex outside of marriage.

Many men here have sex before marriage. But women still like to "save" themselves until marriage. I don't see why not ask the same for guys. Is ludicrous.

It is not ok for anyone to have irresponsible sex but the consequences for women seem to be worse than for men. That is why.
