Sitting at home doing whatever and all of a sudden, 'BAM!' right against the window and you look out and find a dead robin that slammed into the window? Guess Windex really works, lol.

Happens heaps its awful!
I am a vet Tech and we are always getting wild birds bought in that have been stunned by flying into glass window.
I have also seen burds attacking windows!

It certainly has, I used to stay at a friends house and the window in the room I would sleep in had a tree outside of it with a magpie nest, and every morning as soon as the sun came up the birds would constantly be running into the window, it was quite annoying as I was trying to sleep.

None of them where ever hurt though.

Oh gawd. This has happened to me four or five times from sparrows to several species that I rarely see in the city. I used to rent out in the woods with my parents when I was a kid. The cooler cabins we rented were built on a rocky 'cliff'. The downside to these cabins were the regular dead and stunned birds we'd find. It happened the same way you described. You're minding your own business then **BAM!!**. It's rather amusing (and sad) to see a stunned bird staring up at everything with shock! One poor bird broke its neck on impact..and its beak. Ouch!
