My fiance bought me the most beautiful engagement ring and I absolutely love it. I know he spent a good bit of money on it and I really like wearing it alone. Our wedding is in October and I was wondering if I can just keep that ring and use it as my wedding ring or do I have to purchase and additional ring to wear with the engagement ring as a wedding band? We do not have a lot of surplus income so I feel like it is a waste of money to buy another ring if I am happy with just one.

I picked out the most beautiful 3 stone ring for my engagement and have no desire or plans to get a second band. My hands are very small and having a second band overwhelms my hand. When we get married in September, I'll give the ring to my finace, and he'll place it on my finger during the ceremony. Don't feel that you need to get a second band to live up to other peoples expectations.

Congrats and good luck!

Sometimes you see a woman with a wider band with a stone on it she uses it as her engagement ring & wedding ring
And some choose a plain gold band that they use for both the engagement ring & wedding ring.
And some get engaged & married with no ring at all.

Those 'symbols', presence or lack, of do not make anyone more or less married. It is the commitment.

If you are happy with the status quo then it matters to no one else.

Ps. My own personal opinion is that in this day & age, it is wise to wear a ring when betrothed. It saves a lot of misconceptions & misinterpretations to those looking for a mate.

You don't have to wear a wedding band if you don't want to. One of my co-workers only wears her engagement ring. She doesn't like wearing both rings so she doesn't. You may want a cheap wedding band to use for the ceremony but if not you can just give him you engagement ring before hand to use. Good Luck!

I'm wearing only my engagement ring. Love the way it looks, I think a band would take away it's beauty.

Princess Diana wore a beautiful sapphire & diamond engagement ring... that served as a her wedding ring too. You are happy, and that ring alone can signify that you are committed to the man you love.

Maybe wear ur wedding ring on a different finger so as not to ruin the look? U don't have to wear a wedding ring. If ur hubby dont mind then who cares what anyone else might think?

It's your wedding, your day n you finger so if you don't wanna waste money that no doubt would never compete with the ring you already have, why bother.
I say do what u want it's all about you, after all!

Do as you please. However, will you always be explaining that you ARE married, even though you are just wearing an engagement ring?
A simple gold wedding band doesn't cost much.

If you don't want the band, don't get one. That's entirely a personal decision.

NO. YOU HAVE TO WEAR YOUR BAN. IT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE ENGAGEMENT RING. YOUR ENGAGEMENT RING IS REALLY JUST A NICE PIECE OF JEWELRY YOUR BOYFRIEND GAVE YOU. THE BAN SAY'S IT ALL
