Hey, my floppy drive is out of commission, I think. And I want to reinstall WinXP but my version of XP disk requires pressing of F6 to install SATA drivers. So, if I slipstream SP2 into a WinXP image, do I still need to press F6?

You sure do. The infamous F6 floppy does however go away with Vista. That being said, if you want to stick with XP (which I would recommend), floppies can be purchased for under $10 from most stores these days, or at www.newegg.com
