"The acerra, "A-KER-rah" is a special container for sacred incense."

The Acerra usually has a lid (and my couldron thingy doesnt) but i need an Acerra and this seems perfect to me.

Or a Salinum?

The salinum, "Sa-LEE-num" is a container for sacred purifying salt.

Or a Gutus?

The gutus, "GOO-tus" is a container for sacred milk or wine that is offered to the gods.

What do you think?

I'd use something with a lid if you're dealing with incense.

Incense loses its power, metaphorically speaking, if you have it out in the open. That way, you smell it a little bit all the time, and you get used to the smell, which means it's not special to you when you use it.

If the incense is for special occasions, keep it in an enclosed container so that the smell hits you fresh each time you use it.

For salt, make sure it's non-reactive. But it should be closed, too, if it's for salt storage, because it will take on moisture and get all clumpy and gross if it's left out in the open.

Keep the milk in the fridge or in the teat until you're ready to use it.

Keep wine under proper conditions and don't store it too long after it's been opened--pour out what you don't use. I mean, like a libation or something.

You have to be a little more practical about these things.

"Thingy"? I have no idea what you're referring to... is it actually a cauldron? I don't know what a cauldron "thingy" is. If it's just a cauldron, I don't see why not.

LOL... like the gal below me said, if it has a lid then it's a good idea... I was looking around in my old books to find something other than cauldron or addition to cauldron that would define "thingy" and I was STUMPED. Sorry I'm of no help.
