They are small flaps on each side of the uvula. The swell with infection or irritation. If they have white spots, it is often strp throat. I hope this helps you.

They are at the back of your throat on either side, just at the root of your tongue.
Or in my case not.... got them was older when it was done and it was bloody painful.
