I am sorry but a cashew will not grow in Iowa unless you have a really good and warm greenhouse. They are very tropical trees and we in south Florida sometimes have a difficult time growing them here.
Did you know that cashews are related to mangoes and poison ivy?

Definitely not cashews. Maybe peanuts but I doubt it without a greenhouse.

cashews are tropical and grow on large tropical evergreens, so i don't think they can be grown in Iowa. peanuts are grown in warmer climates like the southern US and south america, but you could give it a try.
good luck!
